Add a light or appliance (a device)

A device is a light, fan, socket or heater that is wired to a relay on a circuit board.

Getting startedUpdated October 9, 2026

A device is something you switch: a ceiling light, a fan, a heater. It is wired to one relay (a numbered switch) on a circuit board. Ask your installer which relay number each light uses.

  1. Go to More → Rooms, choose the room, and press Add a device.
  2. Choose Wired to a relay.
  3. Type a name (“Ceiling light”) and pick the type. The type sets the picture and a typical power use.
  4. If the room has several boards, choose the board. Then choose the relay number. Numbers already used are greyed out.
  5. Check the power in watts — it is used for the energy numbers. Press Add device.

The device appears in the room with a button. Tap it to switch.

Careful: Mains wiring must be done by a qualified electrician. Never open or wire anything while it is connected to power.
