How Fradomos works

No technical words, we promise. Fradomos has three parts at home, and one optional part for when you are away.

How the parts of Fradomos work togetherYou use the app, the wall panel or a web page. They talk to the Fradomos box in your home. The box talks over Wi-Fi to the circuit boards, which switch lights and read sensors. The cloud is only used when you are away.YOUR HOMEPhonethe appWall paneltouch screenWeb pageany browserFradomos boxremembers everythingWi-FiSwitch boardlights, socketsSensor boardtemperature, gasInfrared boardAC and TVCloud: only when you are away

1. The Fradomos box

A small computer that lives next to your router. It is the brain of your home. It knows your rooms, your devices, who may do what, your schedules and your energy numbers. It decides what happens and remembers everything. We call it the miniserver in the app.

2. Circuit boards

Small boards, each with a QR code, that do the work: switch boards turn lights and appliances on and off, sensor boards measure temperature and gas, infrared boards press the buttons of your air conditioner and TV. They talk to the box over your Wi-Fi.

3. The app, the panel and the web page

The ways you talk to your home: the app on your phone, the touch wall panel, or a normal web page opened from any computer in your home. They all show the same thing.

4. The cloud (optional)

Only used when you are away. It is a secure meeting point so that your phone can reach your box from outside. It passes requests along and keeps nothing from your home. Read how remote access works.

A simple example

What happens when you tap “Living room light”

  1. You tap the button

In the app, on the panel or on the web page.

  2. The box checks you

It checks that you are signed in and that you are allowed to control the living room.

  3. The box tells the circuit board

Over your Wi-Fi, in a fraction of a second.

  4. The board switches the light

A small relay closes, exactly like a wall switch.

  5. Everybody sees it

The board reports back, and the button turns on in every app and on every panel at the same moment.

Setting up

From the box to the first light

  1. Plug in the box

Connect it to power and to your router with the network cable.

  2. Install the app and sign in

On the same Wi-Fi the app finds your box by itself. See the steps.

  3. Add a room

“Living room”, “Kitchen” — whatever you call them. See the steps.

  4. Scan a circuit board

Scan the QR code, choose the room, type your Wi-Fi. See the steps.

  5. Add your devices

Name each light or appliance and tell Fradomos which relay it is on. See the steps.

Lights and appliances that use mains power must be wired by a qualified electrician.

Good to know

When things go wrong

What if the internet goes down?

Nothing changes inside your home. The box, the circuit boards, the app on your Wi-Fi and the wall panel do not need the internet. Only things that live on the internet, like the weather on the panel, the push notifications on your phone and access from outside, wait until it is back.

What if the power goes out?

The box and the circuit boards start again by themselves when the power returns and reconnect to each other. Your rooms, devices and schedules are saved on the box, so they are still there.

Do I need to open ports on my router?

No. Nothing in your home is reachable from the internet. For access from outside, your box opens an outgoing connection to us, like a phone call that it makes itself.

How many circuit boards can I have?

As many as your home needs. Each board is added in the app and belongs to a room. A switch board has 1, 2, 4 or 8 relays.
